Restaurant: Ted’s Bulletin
Location: Washington, D.C.
Dish: Macaroni & Cheese
Ted’s Bulletin is always one of my recommendations when visitors come to the city. I love that place – it’s a classic diner-style (but nice) restaurant that is equal parts nostalgia and home-cooking. Often times, I don’t even order the entrees off the menu, instead selecting a series of sides and starters to create my very own meal. This time, I brought my mom who was visiting. She’s been to Ted’s many times and always wants to stop by when she’s in town.
Now, usually I love this macaroni and cheese, but as you can see in the photo, this time it was a bit runny. Don’t get me wrong, it was still delicious and I ate all of it, but it wasn’t perfection like it usually is. It’s a super classic take on the mac, with melted cheddar cheese as the main event, elbow noodles and bread crumb sprinkles on top.
This is a tough one, because I’ve had it many times before and loved it so much. It is usually delicious, and has all of the ingredients to be excellent, but it was slightly off on that day. I believe in its potential and have seen it knock it out of the park.
