Restaurant: Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster BBQ

Dish: Mac and Cheese (&Three Meat Sampler)
A few weeks ago, N.S. and I needed a working lunch so we stopped into Myron Mixon’s and man, it did not disappoint. We shared the three meat platter, with turkey, brisket and BBQ chicken, with mac and cheese and fries as the sides. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. In fact, this entire platter was empty by the time we were through with it.
But, this blog is about cheese, so I’ll focus on the mac. I wish there was more of it! It was really, really good. The cheese was thick and gooey, a blend of cheddar and real cream. It was every bit as decadent as mac and cheese should be at a BBQ restaurant. While it was just a “fixin'” as a side to the main dish, it definitely had enough personality and depth to be a standout on its own.
Also, we met Chris Bassett, a partner in this restaurant and housewives hubby (RHOP)! He was generous enough to sit down and spend some time with us, answering all of our annoying questions about the Real Housewives of Potomac (which is mostly filmed in and around DC). After meeting him in person, we are definitely rooting for this couple and their success and think they are a great addition to the show!
